Serena Swenson

Originally from Wisconsin, Serena Swenson had never been to Crane Lake before she accepted a job at Voyagaire Lodge in 2017. She has loved the outdoors since a young age and is so grateful to be able to call this neck of the woods her home.

Emily Schwanke

Emily Schwanke is a Crane Lake local and co-owner of Voyageurs Guide Service. She has been exploring and adventuring in the lakes of Northern Minnesota since she was able to walk and is now dedicated to helping others explore this part of the world.

Megan MacDonnell


Megan MacDonnell has recently returned to her roots in Grand Rapids, MN.  She left the corporate life in NYC and MPLS, to enjoy utilizing her skills as a trained and certified chef to cook and bake amazing food for her customers out of her Green Door Café Food Truck!

Lori Sanborn

Lori Sanborn owns Handberg’s Marina with her family and has energy and passion for exploring the beautiful north woods.  Her smile and positive energy are contagious.

Stacy Bender

Stacy, a Social Emotional Learning Specialist with Peacemaker Resources, has been in the field of education for 24 years.  Most of her teaching experience has been focused on teacher professional development.  For Peacemaker Resources, Stacy teaches social-emotional learning skills to children and adults and provides teacher professional development in the areas of resiliency, positive psychology, restorative practices, and mindfulness.  Stacy is a certified ACE Interface Trainer, a graduate of the Mindful Schools Teacher Certification Program, a YogaCalm Certified Youth Instructor, and a LINK to Equity Cultural Humility Facilitator. She has a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Kristin Klinefelter

Kristin has been in the health education field since 1998, guiding patients, students, and colleagues to improve their knowledge, health, and wellbeing. She focuses on bridging the gap between knowledge and behavior so people can start where they are and thrive.  Kristin has enjoyed the beauty of Crane Lake for 25 years and is already planning her summers in retirement there.
